Overview
The Fairground Festival in Hannover is one of the biggest festivals in the region, drawing thousands of visitors. Eventbro approached us to build a complete drinks ordering platform — allowing attendees to browse menus, place orders from their phone, and pick up drinks without waiting in long queues.
We owned the full development end to end: the React Native mobile app for attendees, the React web dashboard for festival staff and vendors, and the AWS-powered backend handling real-time order processing at scale.
What we did
- React Native mobile app
- React web dashboard
- TypeScript
- AWS & DynamoDB backend
- End-to-end development
- Order processing
- Real-time
- First experience
- Mobile
- Queue wait time
- Zero
How it works
Festival-goers open the Eventbro app, browse the drinks menu for their nearest bar or vendor, and place an order directly from their phone. The order is instantly pushed to the vendor dashboard where staff can see and fulfil it in real time. When the order is ready, the attendee gets a notification and picks it up — no queue, no cash, no friction.
The backend runs on AWS with DynamoDB for low-latency reads and writes, designed to handle the burst traffic patterns typical of festival peak hours.
Results
The platform launched at Fairground Festival and transformed the ordering experience. Attendees spent less time in queues and more time enjoying the festival. Vendors were able to process orders more efficiently, reducing bottlenecks at peak times.
